Sad! Fans disappointed as Nike Osinowo flunks her show

Nike Osinowo’s television talk show was supposed to be as bright as a dawn of hope after the spell of a long, horrid night; perhaps it would be if wasn’t as dull as ditch water. This sad reality becomes the lot of the former beauty queen and socialite whose TV show was severally over-hyped prior to its debut.
Despite the hype that heralded her entrance into the world of television magazine programmes, Nike is yet to effect that promising spark characteristic of a brash and able neophyte trying her hands in a tasking field. Contrary to initial expectations about her ability to rattle and compete effectively with established broadcasters and TV talk show hosts and entrepreneurs like Agatha Amata, Mo Abudu among others, Nike has failed to shine.
Amata must be heaving a sigh of relief right now given her initial fears of a possible ouster by Nike. While Agatha and others scurried back to the drawing board in fear, to re-strategise and repackage their shows, Nike brazenly dashes the hopes of her fans every week as her weekly talk programme persistently fails to measure up to both local and international standards.
The manner in which she packages her show indicates a more grievous problem that remains the bane of ethical journalism; every episode reflects the presenter and owner’s penchant to patronise desperate politicians and wannabe business magnates by her platform. It is even argued in certain quarters that Nike actually planned to use the platform to make money from such frantic characters during this election year – a speculation that is severely taken root even amongst her disappointed fans.
While the show pales in its delivery and impact, it is equally very boring thus manifesting as a pitiful waste of time and money. Perhaps the former beauty queen would pull the plug of the show and dutifully devote her time to her twins. The estranged wife of Tunde Soleye, will apparently do better in familiar terrains, like the walkway and the social circuit.
