The supremacy of the immortal King of the universe should never be questioned or contested; and any earthly king who fails to acknowledge this will end up falling by his own sword.

Earthly kings might be placed above other men, honoured and exorted by them, their reigns is but for a while as they shall be dethroned by death of by the conspiracy of men. But the supreme king remains on the throne forever, little wonder the new Ooni of Ife, the Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye, in a Davidian swag, worshipped the King of kings at a thanks giving church service, an action that triggered criticism from some people.

The mischief-makers, who saw the king’s action of bowing down in church as diminishing to the stool, criticized the king for disrespecting and desecrating the ancient Ife stool.
Oba Adeyeye, in his habitual way of not suffering fools gladly, reacted promptly to the criticism.

In his response through his Director of Communication, Ooni of Ife’s Palace, Moses Olafare, he said it was an unacceptable sacrilege to equate Ooni’risa or any other king to the almighty God.
He stated that “God is the creator of mankind and it is God who made it possible for the enthronement of any king.

“The ILE OODUA has been drawn to a publication released Wednesday 16th 2015 by an online medium known as NEWSPUNCH in which His Imperial Majesty, Ooni’risa & Arole Oodua Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II) was criticized for bowing to God.

“God remains the highest KING OF KINGS who has kept all Kings alive and had made it possible for me to be crowned as the King of the source of Yoruba civilisation.

“I have no regret whatsoever for kneeling down to exalt the almighty God who did not only create me, but also kept me alive, saw me through all the storms in my life-journey and eventually crowned me as the Custodian of Oodua Race.

“This act of equating me to God of Gods, King of Kings and the sole owner of the universe is a wicked sacrilege planned to embarrass the throne.

“My emergence as Oba has been made possible only by the almighty Olodumare to whom I remain eternally grateful”, the Ooni said.
