There is no disputing the pluck and enviable prescience of Governor Dapo Abiodun. Like the fabled alchemist, who transforms base metals into gold blocks, Dapo enchants the good and law-abiding citizens of Ogun State with towering leadership acumen and finesse rarely seen in a political office holder.

Barely a month after assuming office as the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Governor Abiodun’s investment drive received a massive boost yesterday when the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank PLC, Herbert Wigwe, unveiled the financial institution’s plan to build a 15-storey creative arts and entertainment village in Abeokuta, the state capital.

While on a courtesy visit to the Governor’s Office in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Wigwe disclosed that the bank has identified Ogun State as a viable and conducive state fit enough to the “Support System” set up in Abeokuta.

Affirming his confidence in Governor Abiodun’s political leadership, Wigwe further said that Access Bank was looking at a sector that would sit on four major hubs: Entertainment, Information Technology and Skills, and Nollywood and Music. Wigwe affirmed that the Gateway State has a creative sector that could employ between two and three million people if properly harnessed.

In his remarks, Governor Dapo Abiodun applauded the decision of Access Bank PLC to partner with his administration’s quest to build the state through investment in the Creative Arts, Information Technology and Entertainment sectors.

“I assured that our government would provide an enabling environment for a Public-Private Sector Partnership which would be fundamental to the economic growth of the state, noting that the visit was a clear testimony to the commitment of our administration’s desire to provide good governance,” Abiodun said.
