Leading female artiste in Nigeria Tiwa Savage took to Twitter today to announce the cancellation of a planned concert in South Africa, as a result of the recent xenophobic attack on Nigerians in the country.

In her tweet, the ‘All Over’ crooner said she was sick of “watching the barbaric butchering of my people in SA. This is sick.”
She went on to disclose that “For this reason, I will not be performing at the upcoming DStv Delicious Festival in Johannesburg on the 21st of September.”

“My prayers are with all the victims and families affected by this,” she concluded.
Savage is the latest entertainer to vent their anger on the recent attacks on Nigerian businesses in South Africa. The renowned music artiste 2Baba had posted series of messages on both his Twitter and Instagram pages since the news of attacks went viral on Sunday. In one of his tweets, he called out the president and lawmakers, asking them to take actions instead of carrying out politics as usual.
“This is becoming too shameful. How can we have no dignity in our polity?” Part of the tweet reads.
Meanwhile, various groups have continued to issue threats to attack South African businesses in Nigeria. Though security has beefed up in threatened areas, the anger of Nigerians over the killings of their brethren in the Southern African country is still sizzling.
