The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued a new advisory to applicants of its 2025 recruitment exercise, especially those who submitted their applications before the recent upgrade of its online portal.
Only applications submitted before the upgrade are valid on the portal; new entries are not accepted and may override previous records
The Board assures a fair recruitment process and urges applicants to follow official updates for further instructions.

In a press release dated Friday, August 1, and signed by the Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) AM Jibril, the Board announced that all records submitted before the upgrade can now be accessed via the designated portal: https://update.cdcfib.gov.ng.
“All records for applicants who submitted their details prior to the recent upgrade can now be accessed via https://update.cdcfib.gov.ng,” the statement said.
The Board advised all affected applicants to log in to the portal, verify their information, and complete the final submission process. “Upon successful completion, an application slip will be generated with the same Application ID previously generated,” the notice explained.
This step is necessary to ensure that earlier entries are updated and recognised as valid within the recruitment process.
The CDCFIB made it clear that the update portal is strictly for applicants who applied before the upgrade and is not meant for fresh submissions.
“The portal does not accommodate new applications. If you have submitted a new application after the upgrade, your latest submission will override any previous entries and will not be visible on this update portal,” the Board stated.
The Board reiterated its commitment to a fair and transparent recruitment exercise and encouraged applicants to follow official updates and guidelines. Applicants are urged to regularly check the portal for any further instructions or announcements from the Board.
