The African Democratic Congress (ADC), has made a stunning revelation about the move by the current administration against state governors willing to join the coalition
Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC’s national publicity secretary, revealed the actual reason why Nigerian governors are reluctant to be part of the coalition party ahead of the 2027 election
Abdullahi spoke days after former Jigawa state governor alleged that President Tinubu is intimidating the opposition in Nigeria.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has revealed that no Nigerian governor would join the party due to alleged intimidation.
Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, the national publicity secretary of the ADC, said serving governors are facing intimidation, preventing them from defecting to other political parties.
Speaking at the third plenary session of the Northern Political Consultative Group (NPCG), Abdullahi suggested that some governors are being compelled to endorse rival presidential candidates despite their preferences.
“No serving governor would be willing to cross over because of the intimidation that they are facing,” Abdullahi stated.
“We know what they are doing to them. Some of them who cannot jump to their party are saying we are endorsing their presidential candidate. No problem. But what you are seeing is a conspiracy against the Nigerian people.”
Buttressing his point, Abdullahi’s comments come amidst a dynamic political landscape where various reports suggest a realignment of forces ahead of the 2027 general elections, The Nigerian Tribune reported.
Lamido warned that the strategy risks deepening national disunity and weakening Nigeria’s democracy ahead of the 2027 elections.
