The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has reignited political debates with a fresh prediction concerning Nigeria’s 2027 elections.
He suggested that the outcome of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid could largely depend on how the opposition structures itself and the choice of its vice-presidential candidate..
In a prophetic message, Ayodele identified three influential politicians who, if selected as running mates, could tip the balance in favor of the opposition.
These are former Senate President Bukola Saraki, ex-Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The cleric noted that their political clout, regional influence, and grassroots connections could unite disparate factions, potentially limiting Tinubu’s support to just 40% and setting the stage for a significant defeat.
Ayodele emphasized that holding office does not guarantee Tinubu’s invincibility, cautioning that a strong opposition alliance could challenge the APC’s dominance. Analysts highlight that Saraki, Tambuwal, and Kwankwaso command support in strategic regions: North Central, North West, and North East/North West, offering the coalition broad national appeal.
Kwankwaso’s base in Kano, Saraki’s influence across the North Central and South West, and Tambuwal’s Sokoto stronghold could form a balanced and potent electoral combination.
With the elections still two years away, Ayodele’s prophecy has already ignited speculation over potential coalitions and the composition of an ideal opposition ticket. The key question remains whether rival ambitions within the opposition can be reconciled to mount an effective challenge capable of unseating President Tinubu in 2027.
