The debate on who emerges as the presidential candidate of the newly adopted African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition has continued to stir concerns in the polity

As efforts to challenge President Bola Tinubu gain momentum, a public affairs analyst, Donald Okwuosa, has analysed the ADC candidate ticket that can defeat Tinubu in 2027.

He stated this while reacting to Bashir, one of the sons of El-Rufai, who asked Atiku Abubakar to step down for Peter Obi.….CONTINUE READING

Bashir said Obi and a strong northern candidate will set President Tinubu packing in 2027

Okwuosa said power should return to the South for another 8 years after the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said the Obi/ Nasir Elrufai ticket under the ADC coalition will unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling APC in 2027.

As for an Obi/Elrufai ticket, I consider it a perfect match. Both are men of impeccable character and integrity . They are both guided by principles and run with a mindset of excellence. Also, with a Midas touch.

The public administrator said El-rufai did tremendously well in office as an FCT Minister and later as the governor of Kaduna State.

According to Okwuosa, Elrufai is a strong, brilliant, and formidable force in the north and Nigerian politics, while Peter Obi, on his part, is an embodiment of character, wisdom, and grace.

He said despite a ‘server glitch’ and several corruptions that marred the 2023 presidential election, Obi still garnered over 6 million votes,

“A joint ticket of Obi with Elrufai would make Obi’s presence in the north more prominent. Don’t forget, it was this same Elrufai and Ganduje (former Kano state governor) who announced Tinubu to the north, giving him prominence.

“Obi with an Elrufai is an intelligent bargain, and if properly pushed forward, would unseat ‘Emilokan’ from presidency, no doubt, because the north seems to be tired of Emilokan, more so, when he didn’t keep to their agreement regarding presidential appointments.”

Recall that a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, reacted to the emergence of the ADC coalition against President Tinubu.

Omokri said there is no coalition or joining of forces by the opposition leaders against President Tinubu in 2027.

The political commentator explained the reason Peter Obi is very unlikely to clinch the ADC presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 election.

Yesufu said the people must decide who becomes the coalition candidate of the ADC coalition in the 2027 election.

Nigerians have taken to social media to react to Yesufu’s suggestion on how to pick the ADC coalition presidential candidate.
