Primate Elijah Ayodele, the spiritual leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church (IESC Worldwide), has issued a pointed warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the growing influence of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its newly emerging coalition.

In a video message shared via Facebook, the outspoken cleric cautioned Tinubu against taking legal action against the ADC or its affiliated coalition, stating that such a move would not only be ineffective but could also backfire politically.
“Legally, you cannot fight the ADC. Find another way to fight them. If you are fighting them legally, they will weak your government,” Ayodele said.
Ayodele’s message suggests that the ADC, often viewed as a minor party, could rise in influence through strategic coalitions that may challenge the dominance of larger parties like the APC and PDP.
According to Ayodele, attempting to suppress the ADC through legal channels could lend the group unexpected political momentum. Instead, he advised the Tinubu administration to “think of other means” to handle the coalition, emphasizing the strength and unpredictability of united opposition forces.
“You may not take it seriously now, but if you decide to fight them legally, you give them power. Calm down and think of other means that will favour your government. Coalitions are very strong they are coming,” Ayodele added.
The prophetic warning underscores rising political tensions as Nigeria moves closer to another election cycle. While the presidency has not responded to the statement, political watchers say Ayodele’s predictions, though often controversial, have in the past stirred debate and reflection.
