Senior media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, has reacted to a viral comment made by a Nigerian lady regarding the Biafran movement and the diversity of opinion among the Igbo people.
This was shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
The reaction came after a video clip surfaced online in which the lady expressed her views on the Biafran agitation, emphasizing that not every Igbo person aligns with the movement.
In the trending clip, the woman stated that the Igbo are among the most intelligent people in Nigeria and that it is unreasonable to expect every individual to support a cause they never subscribed to in the first place.
The lady said,
“The Igbos are one of the smartest people. You are telling someone to come and support a movement that he initially is not wanting to be part of. The Biafran movement, is not something all Igbos are in support of” VIDEO (0:29 – 0:34)
Responding to the video, Olayinka suggested that the woman might face criticism for her candid opinion, despite its rationality.
Lere Olayinka said,
“They will insult this lady for saying the truth.”
He appeared to commend her for voicing an unpopular but thoughtful perspective, subtly pointing to the intolerance that often surrounds political discourse in the country.
