In the political arena, a flurry of events unfolded, particularly among individuals driven by self-interest who were passionately competing for various political positions.
Findings revealed that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party candidate has contested for the office of president five times in 26 years of Nigeria’s civil rule. This is the reason many wonder where the ex-VP is getting money to fund the elections.
Political activist Deji Adeyanju has revealed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s repeated attempts to contest Nigeria’s presidency are driven by consistent financial backing for his campaign.
In a statement shared on his social media platform, Adeyanju alleged that Atiku’s motivation for continuously vying for the highest office in the land stems not just from political ambition, but from the steady flow of campaign funds he receives during each election cycle from government and private sources
“One of the reasons Atiku is always contesting every election is because he is always getting funding from within and outside government,” Adeyanju stated.
The comment comes weeks after Atiku Abubakar joined the Coalition Movement under the umbrella of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in preparation for the 2027 election.
Atiku has not publicly responded to the claims. His media team has also remained silent on Adeyanju’s accusations as of the time of filing this report.
