Mahmud Abubakar, the Sonfada Etsu Nupe, is dead.
Umaru Bago, governor of Niger state, commiserated with Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and chairman of the Niger state council of traditional rulers, over the death of Abubakar.
In a condolence message issued on Sunday by Bologi Ibrahim, the governor’s chief press secretary, Bago described the passing as a “colossal loss” not only to the Nupe kingdom but to the entire state.
The governor extended his condolences to the Bida Emirate and the immediate family of the deceased.
He prayed that Allah forgives the shortcomings of the late Sonfada and admits him into Aljanat Firdaus.
Bago urged the family to remain steadfast in prayers for the repose of the deceased’s soul while emulating his good deeds in the service of humanity.
