Former Vice President Namadi Sambo has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) amid the ongoing crisis within the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Sambo, who served as Vice President under President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015, was formally received into the APC on Wednesday by Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna
Before becoming the vice president, Sambo had earlier served as the governor of Kaduna between 2007 to 2010.….CONTINUE READING

Sambo’s defection comes amid a wave of high-profile exits from the PDP, which has seen several senators, members of the National Assembly, and state leaders switch allegiance to the ruling APC in recent months.
The trend has been linked to internal wrangling within the PDP and unresolved leadership disputes.
Recently, the PDP has been shocked by the defection of prominent figures within the party. These included two governors who dumped the party for the APC.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Umo Eno of Delta and Akwa Ibom recently dumped the PDP for the APC. While Governor Oborevwori joined the APC with PDP structures in the state, his counterpart in Akwa Ibom vowed to have control of the opposition in the state.
