The development was disclosed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, via his official X account.
The protesters, who were demanding an audience with the Emir to express their grievances, were met with a police barricade.
This led to a tense standoff between the security operatives and the youths who insisted on seeing the emir.
