Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel), is trending on X following explosive allegations made by a former staff member about the treatment of low-level workers in his household.
A former security guard named Greatness took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his experiences while working at Oyedepo’s residence. In a now-viral post, he accused the bishop and his household of inhumane treatment, extreme surveillance, and poor staff welfare. …CONTINUE READING
Greatness claimed, “I worked in Bishop Oyedepo’s house and they throw food away every day but you as a cook dare not eat even in the kitchen.”
According to him, the kitchen and other parts of the residence were under constant watch. “They have CCTV cameras in the kitchen that is watched 24/7. Security are always looking hungry and haggard.”
He explained that at the time, he saw this as normal, only realizing how extreme it was after working for other employers.
“It was when I experienced some other employers that I realised that those things were so normal especially in the house of God.”
He clarified that he holds no personal grudge, saying, “I don’t have anything against Winners or The Bishop. I just want them to fix their workers’ welfare especially the low-level workers. They are humans too.”
Criticizing the contradiction between the church’s large-scale charitable projects and its alleged staff treatment, Greatness stated, “Winners use billions to do roads, buy transformers for community, give scholarships but they pay one of the worst salaries in Nigeria. They have some of the worst staff welfare you can think of.”
He revealed he worked at Oyedepo’s house from 2016 to late 2019 and earned a salary of ₦24,000 per month.
Since posting, Greatness claims to have received threats to his business, person, and family. While some Nigerians have validated his claims, many of Oyedepo’s followers have lashed out at him, accusing him of defaming their spiritual leader.
Unbothered, Greatness responded that if he is telling the truth, the curses sent to him should go back to their senders.
