The governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed is reportedly in the final stages of transitioning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as confirmed by multiple sources within the Government House.
This decision comes after productive discussions over the past few weeks among Governor Mohammed, ADC leaders, and key political figures from the North-East. If he proceeds with this change, it will represent a significant shift within the PDP and could provide the ADC with a stronger voice in the Governors’ Forum.

An official announcement is anticipated in the coming days, and the ADC headquarters has welcomed this potential defection as a promising development for Nigerian democracy.
Political analysts are keenly observing this situation, eager to see who might be the next governor or federal lawmaker to join in what is being described as “the great realignment.” This could lead to a reconfiguration of the political landscape, fostering new alliances and opportunities for collaboration.
