Even forever comes to an end. Hence when Kennedy Uzoka, UBA, director was tipped to succeed Philip Oduoza as the bank’s Group Managing Director (GMD), he knew he had been thrust into the vortex of history. More importantly, he understood that finally, the ides of fate had called on him to ride and tame the excesses and subtle machinations of time.

But rather than ease into his newfound role as United Bank of Africa (UBA)’s head honcho silently, without colour or verve, Kennedy has decided to savour the moment and his privileges while it lasts. To achieve this, he intends to make a statement, a very bold statement at that, at resumption in office. Thus Kennedy has gone on a shopping spree.

The new UBA boss, known for his impeccable taste in fashion, may clean out Savile Row’s premium closets just to add colour and élan to his already gorgeous wardrobe. There is no gainsaying he understands the import of making a colourful fashion statement anytime, any day, anywhere. Its often said Kennedy has climbed to the top of the greasy pole; like a Bengali bride, he has become the object of lust and high affection of every element and juggernaut prowling the cutthroat halls of the United Bank of Africa (UBA).

Prominent male and female staff of UBA lusting for wealth and perks of high office have re-strategized their blueprint for progress and achieving their heartfelt dreams; as you read, they are milling around Kennedy Uzoka, and singing his praises to high heavens. Everybody wishes to befriend the new UBA director.

Suddenly, Uzoka has become the darling of everyone. The very gentle and reserved dude attracts UBA power blocs to himself as the pollen nectar attracts butterflies. He has become the toast of many favour-seekers and bootlickers who feel their lot would be bettered by patronising the new UBA boss.
