Jubrin, a strong ally of Kwankwaso, had visited President Bola Tinubu amid the controversies that the leader of the Kwankwasiyyah movement was planning to dump the NNPP for the APC
Abdulmumini said that the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) would decide his political future by himself.
The Kano-born politician made this known while speaking in an interview with journalists during his visit to President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa in Abuja on Wednesday, July 30.
This came amid the speculation of a talk between the former governor of Kano and President Tinubu to dump the NNPP for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). But Jubrin maintained that his relationship with Tinubu is not a hidden thing and that of the president and Kwankwaso was in the public eye as well.
His statement reads in part: “I am not in a position to comment on the reports saying Kwankwaso is joining the APC. Only Kwankwaso can decide on this. And it is also an issue related to the president. I am too young to reconcile the two big men.”
The APC’s new national chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, recently said that the doors of the ruling party are open to opposition leaders, including Kwankwaso.
Before now, there have been speculations that the leader of the Kwankwasiya movement was planning to dump the NNPP for the APC ahead of the next general election, and the new APC national chairman is not ruling out the defection of the NNPP chieftain.
All these politician jumping from one party to another has nothing to offer to Nigeria they are after their pockets and their selfish interest only.
