38 aspirants, including Abdul-Ganiyu, were disqualified or withdrew voluntarily from the primary to contest the July 12 local government election.
The APC Lagos State Electoral Committee, led by former National Legal Adviser Babatunde Ogala, on Friday, released the final list of chairmanship aspirants cleared for the primary.
Out of the 470 aspirants screened between April 29 and May 3 at the party’s secretariat in Ogba, 432 were cleared to contest.
Abdul-Ganiyu’s exclusion, according to insiders, was allegedly influenced by directives from APC national leader and Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu.
The move has stirred speculation within Agege political circles, especially given Abdul-Ganiyu’s academic and professional record.
