1 Min Read

Folorunsho Alakija, regarded as the country’s wealthiest woman, is reportedly experiencing a marital crisis after more than three decades of marriage to her husband, Modupe Alakija.

The former society matriarch, now a minister of the gospel, has allegedly separated from her spouse, according to The Will newpaper.

According to sources quoted in the report, the couple has been facing frequent disagreements, ultimately resulting in their decision to live separately.

Modupe Alakija is said to no longer spend nights in the couple’s highbrow Ikoyi residence in Lagos.

The alleged strain in their marriage has led Folorunsho Alakija to demand utmost privacy, prompting her husband to seek accommodation elsewhere within the Ikoyi neighborhood.

While the reasons behind the reported marital discord remain undisclosed, insiders suggest that the couple has been putting up a united front due to their status in Nigerian society.

Folorunsho Alakija, the founder of FAMFA Oil Limited, has made a name for herself as a successful businesswoman, philanthropist, and minister.

The timing of this marital crisis coincides with recent reports about Folorunsho Alakija’s health challenges, particularly issues with her eyes.
