The omission, by Zonal Vice Chairman Mustapha Salihu, triggered loud protests, with delegates chanting “Shettima! Shettima!” and warning against any attempt to sideline the region’s highest-ranking officeholder.
A Borno delegate, visibly angered, described the slight as “an insult to the entire region.” Another added, “This is a calculated attempt to edge out Shettima, and we will resist it with everything we have.”
The Vice President’s praise for El-Rufai has led to renewed political speculation, especially in light of recent events suggesting tension within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over Shettima’s place on the party’s 2027 presidential ticket.
In his latest revelations, Nigerian-born prophet Julius Okonkwo, the presiding pastor of Kingdom Seeker in the United States, revealed that Kashim Shettima should forget being the running mate of Tinubu in 2027, as a new person has already been picked.
He said, “There are many things that will happen before the end of this year. I see Shettima resigning from this government because he will be dropped. Tinubu will face several backlashes from his loyalists because they are already plotting and working with the opposition. The 2027 election will reveal a lot of things that citizens would benefit from.”
He continued: “Who will succeed Shettima? A very popular Tinubu’s ally,” Okonkwo revealed.
Revealing further on Wike being a formidable soul to help this government in some key areas in the country. He said: “The only man that will go all out to rescue Tinubu if the ship is about to fall will be Wike, none of his political appointments would do except Wik,e but something will happen again after 2027, I will reveal later,” he concluded.
