As the six-month tenure of the sole administrator in Rivers State draws to a close, the suspended governor, Siminalayi Fubara, faces a critical juncture in his political career.
Fubara is reflecting deeply on his next steps and the implications of a significant political decision that could shape his future and the political landscape of the state.
The stakes are high as he navigates the challenges ahead, weighing his options amid the complexities of a suspended leadership and the expectations of his supporters and constituents.

Barrister Darlington Agomuo, public affairs analyst, has stated that one of the conditions given to suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his return and continuation in office.
In an interview with Voice of The People TV, Agomou said if Fubara joins the APC and later decides to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the newly elected local government chairmen, most of whom are members of the APC, will work against him.
He also said that members of the Rivers House of Assembly will mount even greater pressure on Governor Fubara
In Agomou’s words: “When Fubara comes back they are going to dictate to him. If Fubara eventually says, ‘I am going back to PDP’, because the condition is that Fubara will come over to APC if he wants to continue in office.
Now, if he eventually goes back to (PDP), the local government chairmen are going to work against him. Meanwhile the 27 lawmakers and coming back and they are going to be breathing down the neck of Fubara. So whichever way you look at it, the man is on hostage”
The source said: “Fubara is being calculative, it is not his wish to join APC, if he does that it may affect his ambition in the future because his return as governor of the state still under watch and it is not certain again if he will get second term. And don’t forget that Rivers State is PDP state except it will change if Wike defects.
