The Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Council Manager, Bakare Olakunle Olanrewaju, has passed away in India after a prolonged battle with a cancer-related illness.
Naija News learnt that Bakare’s demise was confirmed in a social media condolence message by his close associate, Duke Olabode Sakirudeen.

Sakirudeen said Bakara, who was reportedly in his late 50s, had been receiving medical treatment in India before his passing a few days ago.
He described Bakare as a dedicated public servant who earned the respect of colleagues throughout his career.
He said, “Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Council Manager, Mr. Bakare, dies after a protracted illness. The Council Manager, in his late fifties, died of a cancer-related ailment in India a few days ago.”
He further praised Bakare as a calm, intelligent, and professional officer, recalling their collaboration on several projects. “Bakare was a level-headed, brilliant officer whom I had worked with variously in the past. He was a friend and brother. He shall be sorely missed. It is so painful losing him this early.”
Odusanya prayed for the repose of Bakare’s soul and expressed hope that his family and colleagues would find strength during this difficult time.
The late Lagos State Council Manager was widely regarded as a committed administrator, whose contributions to local government administration will be remembered by all who worked closely with him.
