Uzoma Nwaubani Death; Gov. Otti Saddened

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has expressed sadness over the sudden death of a United States of America-based medical doctor, Uzoma Nwaubani, after a brief illness.

Naija News learnt that Nwaubani, who had returned from America to participate in the ongoing Association of Nigerian Physicians in America’s (ANPA) free medical outreach in Abia State, died after developing a medical emergency.

Reacting to the demise, Governor Otti, in a statement personally signed and issued on Saturday, said that the late Nwaubani, who was rushed to the hospital after developing a medical emergency, died despite the gallant efforts made by a skilled medical team to resuscitate her.

While commending the family of the late physician for not suspending the ongoing free medical outreach because of the tragedy, Otti maintained that his administration would continue to prioritise the health of the people.

The statement added, “She had returned from the United States with her husband, a true son of Abia and her daughter, a final year medical student in the US to offer her medical expertise free of charge to citizens of our dear state, a sacrifice that marks her out as a compassionate and exemplary medical practitioner, alongside other ANPA volunteers.

“I hereby wish to express my deepest sympathy to the family, loved ones as well as commiserate with the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas
