In the last couple of years, it has become almost like a recurring decimal to read about one individual or another in the media accussing the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, of one alleged misconduct or the other.
This has led to the ministry getting entangled in one court case or another as it continually seeks to clear it’s name and that of it’s founder, Dr. Olukoya, of the many allegations often leveled against it.

While many have found it strange that these attacks often come up against such a respected man of God that is known to be fiercely focused on his responsibilities as a renowned man of God, others believe it is to be expected, considering that, as a high profile man of God, persecution will always emanate from different quarters.
At the moment, the founder is currently locked in another battle with a former senior member of the church, who has gone on social media to escalate the matter.
The battle has been raging on for a while now, as fireworks of accusations and counter accusations have been hurled at each other since the conflict began sometime last year. While the entire membership of the ministry and senior hierarchy are said to be behind their General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, some of these ex-members who fight the GO also claim to have a few people rooting for them as well.
But to the neutral, they find it almost impossible to believe some of the wild allegations of sexual assault leveled gainst the man of God by the former members. It is just so had to reconcile the man of God they know, albeit from a distance, to the monster these former members are painting him to be.
A few days ago, the ministry, through one of its devoted senior members, put out a release debunking all of the recent allegations and stating their own side of the story. The artcle reads in part:
“In recent days, the public has been presented with manipulated narratives through leaked audio recordings. It is time to set the record straight, not with malice, but with facts that reveal a shocking pattern of betrayal against a man known for his unparalleled generosity: Dr. Olukoya of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM).
First, an audio of involving Olukoya was released with a manipulative headline. The plan backfired. Those who listened found the conversation to be harmless, and the public rightly condemned the authors”.
The statement goes on to reveal how Dr. Olukoya has been of great help to some of these former members in the past. Some of them were helped to find their footing right from their early days in the ministry.
From providing accomodation to sponsoring their education and even marriages, Dr. Olukoya is said to have been there for most of them.
Some of them have gone on to enjoy other benefits such as travelling outside the country and earning good wages for their ministerial works. But this has not prevented the serious conflicts th at have broken out between them and their benefactor.
The question many are asking is, why are these people attacking the respected man of God? Why do some of these ex-members who have benefitted from his large heart often turn around to malign him?.
City People reached out to one of the senior members of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, Pastor Abayomi Gabriel, Chairman, House Fellowship Management Board, MFM. We got him to speak on the raging controversy the ministry and its founder are embroiled in and why these things keep happening.
His response: “Sir, let me explain something to you, the core calling of MFM is prayer and deliverance and any ministry that its core calling is deliverance, you are bound to have attacks because this ministry is liberating souls. This ministry has turned a lot of witch doctors powerless and thrown them into the labor market. And when you have a ministry like MFM that is well known in the kingdom of darkness, definitely you are bound to see attacks on the leadership and on the members.
But when you know your background, when you know where you are coming from, you stand your ground. All these attacks are nothing as far as our father in the Lord is concerned. They are nothing because you know, honestly, if you are a Christian who is worthy of his salt, you know that when you are praying, attacks will come. But when you stand your ground, consistently and you persist in your prayers, definitely you will have victory. You will be victorious,” he explains.
Pastor Abayomi stresses further: “So, for Dr. Olukoya, he tells us, let them be saying whatever they like, it has nothing to do with him. Because we all know this man called DK Olukoya. We all know him, you understand me? So, those who are being sponsored, I pity them.
Honestly, I do pity them. And really, a lot of them are only embittered because of this sense of entitlement that thy have. They expect the church and the General Overseer to do so much for them and to them alone. They want all the big positions in the church and have access to al the benefits that accrue from the ministry, but how can even be possible? But I pray for them. I say father Lord, open their spiritual eyes so that they will know that what they are doing is against the word of God. When you are attacking the man of God that has been called by God….oh my, my, my, it is well, sir.”
The obviously emotional senior Pastor went further to mention some of the great things Dr. Olukoya has been doing for young people, within and outside the ministry that people hardly know about. “There are so many things the GO has done for the youths that many do not know about.
For instance, to mention a few, he equipped the music department of a number of Nigerian universities, he funded the construction of the gate of Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) in Ekiti, the GO’s annual First Class Awards remains unequalled. Members of MFM who graduate with first class are celebrated and rewarded in ways no other church or organisation has done. He gives out laptops to the youth, both graduates and undergraduates and provides hostel accommodations for indigent students and those whose parent members live outside Lagos.”
Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya has demonstrated a deep and unwavering commitment to the growth and transformation of the youth through various spiritual and developmental initiatives. His corporate social responsibility (CSR) to the Youth Church is both visionary and impactful, combining spiritual empowerment with practical development.
Dr. Olukoya’s foremost contribution is in building a spiritually vibrant youth church. Through teachings, books, fasting programs like Gen 218, and deliverance sessions, he has equipped youth to live victorious Christian lives. He promotes holiness, prayer, and scriptural knowledge as foundational to fulfilling divine purpose.
Many don’t know he is a strong advocate for excellence. Dr. Olukoya has funded and continues to fund scholarships, science competitions, and academic sponsorships for youth. His personal background in molecular genetics drives his passion for raising intellectually sound and spiritually grounded youth. Through MFM’s educational arm, many young people have accessed higher education and skill development programs.
Under his leadership, the Youth Church has become a training ground for young leaders in ministry and society. Through conferences, seminars, and mentorship programs, he raises youth with integrity, courage, and purpose—equipping them for leadership roles both in the church and beyond.”
