Former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, are jointly leading a poll on X captioned “Who will you vote for?”
The poll was posted by an X user, Omotayo Williams, on Monday night. The post has garnered attention and, at press time, has 4,642 votes.
The options in the poll include Atiku + Obi (ADC), Obi + Datti (LP), Tinubu + Shettima, and Obi + any VP (PDP). A total of 2,536 people have voted for the Atiku and Obi option, while 1,105 voted for the Obi + Datti option. Tinubu and Shettima are at the bottom of the poll with 131 votes, just after Obi and any VP (PDP) option, which has 870 votes.
This poll comes amid various conversations about the upcoming 2027 polls and developments arising from the opposition coalition that has vowed to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
Obi and Atiku, who were former presidential candidates of different political parties in 2023, both ditched their parties to join forces and join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.
There are also controversies about the relationship between Tinubu and Shettima. Onlookers are left wondering if Tinubu would pick Shettima as his running mate in 2027, as he did in 2023, or choose another politician, just as he did when he was Governor of Lagos State
