A significant crisis is currently affecting the African Democratic Congress (ADC) due to an intense leadership conflict within the party.
Ralph Nwosu, the former National Chairman of the ADC, has shed light on the serious “wahala” plaguing the party. He alleged that a competing faction, headed by Nafiu Bala Gombe, is receiving substantial financial backing from influential state governors to undermine the organization.
Nwosu did not shy away from expressing his astonishment at the extravagant lifestyles that rival members are now leading. He disclosed that individuals who were once ordinary members are now enjoying luxuries at the priciest hotels in Nigeria.
“I am familiar with some of these individuals… At times, they fly on private jets to Lagos and Owerri. I know which governors are supporting them,” Nwosu mentioned during the conversation. He noted that even certain offices in Abuja are involved in providing funds.
Despite the unease and concerns that this external financial influence might harm the party, Nwosu affirmed that his faction is prepared for the forthcoming congress.
He confirmed that INEC has been informed. He cautioned that any efforts to obstruct the advancement of the party would be met with strong opposition, as they are determined to safeguard the ADC’s future.
