Faleke behind Kogi Assembly crisis —Lawmakers

March 11, 2016
2 Min Read

The Delta State Government has stated that the total rehabilitation and integration of Ese Oruru into the society is its concern.

Ese, the 14-year-old Deltan, was abducted in Yenogoa, Bayelsa State, to Kano State in August last year by one Dahiru Yunusa, a.k.a. Yellow. Yunusa allegedly converted her to Islam, forcibly married her and got her pregnant.

The position of the government was made known on Wednesday through a state delegation, including the Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah; the Commissioner for Special Duties, Government House, Mr. Henry Siakpra; and the Chief of Staff, Government House, Asaba, Mr. Tam Brisibe, when they visited the Oruru family in Yenogoa.

Ukah, who spoke to journalists after the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Peter Ogunyanwo, facilitated the delegation’s process of seeing Miss Ese Oruru. He said that the Delta State Government will collaborate with the Bayelsa State Government to ensure her speedy recovery.

The commissioner expressed the Delta State Government’s appreciation to Bayelsa State and the state police command for adequately taking care of Miss Oruru at the Police Officers Mess, in Yenogoa.

Ese’s father, Mr. Charles Oruru, flanked by his wife, Rose, thanked the delegation for the visit and he assured them that his daughter will go back to school after being delivered of her baby.
