The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, Mr. Moshood Salvador, says there are no more factions in the party.
Salvado also noted that his election as the chairman of the party was accepted by all and sundry in the party.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent on Monday, the former member of the House of Representatives, said plans were a foot to break the jinx of electoral loss in the state.
The PDP chairman also noted that there was no disagreement between a former national vice-chairman of the party, Chief Bode George, and a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.
Asked to speak on what he had been doing to unite the factions of the party, Salvador said, “To the best of my knowledge, there are no more warring factions in the PDP in Lagos State. After my election, we never received any complaints from anybody or that there is another faction elsewhere. To the best of my knowledge, Lagos PDP is one. If there is anybody complaining, we are ready to discuss with them and resolve our differences.
“It is also not true that Chief George and Obanikoro are fighting. Chief George is our elder and it sounds insulting to say Obanikoro is fighting him. Yes, there may be disagreements but we always have ways of resolving them.”
Salvador said the Lagos PDP was not impressed by the performance of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode because he could have achieved more within one year.
He said Ambode was only imitating the “terrible standard” of the APC-led Federal Government.
