Oba Elegushi cuts an extraordinary portrait of Nigerian royalty; in the day time, he’s always in full royal regalia, fulfilling the demands of his tasking and esteemed office. But at night, the Lagos Island based royalty discards his cloak and horse tail, royal insignias of office, for more hip and rebellious attires. He ditches his crown and staff of office to put on his dancing shoes and storm popular nightclubs across the coastal city. There’s no night club in Lagos that he doesn’t rock. All the club girls love him and fellow male revelers worship him. And that is because the Elegushi is fun to be with at night; he is a very good dancer and lover of expensive cognac. More importantly, he is a big spender and the youngest King from the southwest with unusual tastes for contemporary pop culture.
