The Nigerian Institute of Journalism have been accused of victimizing a student-journalist named DamilareFamuyiwa for leaking the story of Korede Bello’s likelihood of missing out on school’s examination due to him not meeting up with the 70% attendance which is one of the criteria every student must meet before sitting for exams.

The story, which implicated some officials of the school for being partial towards the singer, has landed Damilare in the black book of the school’s administration. As punishment for leaking the story, Damilare was marked down in the last semester examinations with very low scores in virtually all the courses, while Koredo Bello, who rarely attended class, had very high grades.

According to reports, the Mavin Mega Super-Star, Korede Bello with the Godwin hit song cleared all his examination results with good grades while the student-journalist, FamuyiwaDamilare had two carry-overs and low grades in eight other courses offered last semester which ended February this year.

Korede Bello whose matric number is HNMC/15/091 reportedly cleared all his results with the help of some corrupt members of the school’s management who manipulated the system to allow him writes his papers after being absent in school for over half of the semester, while Damilare who course mates described as a brilliant student with no record of carry over or low grades since he gained admission into NIJ, is marked down with very low grade..

It was also gathered that Damilare, who is a freelance journalist at The Nation Newspaper, an active member of the Nigerian Young Journalists Forum and Journalists For Christ (JFC) whose matric no is HNMC/15/031 had earlier been promised to face worst scenario of academic hiccups all through his stay in the institute.

Since posting the story in January 2016, Damilare, who is a website manager at Naijanewsroom.com had unknowingly entered the bad book of the institution and is subsequently being victimized.
