Yes, Taiwo Afolabi’s story is a great lesson for self-starters everywhere because it debunks so many of the prejudices and stereotypes that unfairly hold many back. He’s dispelled the idea that being from humble backgrounds is somehow at odds with being an aristocrat. Contrary to what you might read, Afolabi is no overnight sensation. In fact, he achieved success the old-fashioned way: he earned it. He worked hard and stayed humble. He lives the right way; he plays the right way.
While too many of his peers, gained from their wealth only the fear of losing it, Ejire as he fondly called, gained from his wealth, comfort, contentment and a deep sense of purpose. He understood quite early in life, that there are no little ways to imbue his life with grandeur. He understood that money matters in the mix, in his pursuit of ease and luxury. More importantly, Taiwo regarded money as the only sunbeams that lights his path to grandeur. Nothing is black where it shines. That is why his life is radiant with light.

His unassuming demeanour nonetheless, billionaire SIFAX boss, is living every inch like an affluent man that he is. Economic indicators have shown considerable plunges in wealth of many a billionaire but a visit to Afolabi’s garage will erase all doubts of any likely dwindling turn in his fortune as he has just added to his fleet of wonder wheels with two of world’s most exquisite auto brand, Bentley Bentayga 2019 model and Bentley Continental GT, parting with a whooping sum of $394,000 for the purchase. Not the one to cut corners, the Nigeria Customs Service is also a huge beneficiary of this latest transaction as the lawyer-turned-business magnate paid about N98 million to it.

Bentley Bentayga is unlike any other sport utility vehicle in the world. This powerful, all-terrain, all-purpose car offers an exceptional driving experience. Bentayga has been applauded as the world’s fastest SUV delivering an unmatched balance of phenomenal power and exquisite levels of craftsmanship. With a top speed of 306 km/h, the car offers an invigorating driving experience that both thrills and captivates.

Yet this car is more than just about ability. Imposing and dynamic, Bentayga Speed enjoys a truly commanding road presence, making a powerful statement on every terrain. Bentayga brings together outstanding performance and unparalleled levels of luxury on and off-road. With Bentayga, stop-Start technology is available for the first time on a Bentley.

Tongues have started wagging that the latest acquisitions by the Ijebu-born billionaire have been taken to make a grand statement during the launch of his sprawling hospital business, Marriot Hotel in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, about which plans are now at feverish peak. It will be recalled that Taiwo Afolabi made a heavy investment that the faint of heart likely would dare not few years ago when he was given a franchise by the Marriot International. The 251-room hotel built on 7,000sqm promises to offer top notch luxury services hitherto unseen in the sphere of Nigeria’s hospitality industry.

Its construction is handled by DORI Construction and Engineering while the electricity aspect by ETCO, the architectural masterpiece spreads through two major streets in GRA, that is, Joel Ogunnaike and Oba Adejobi Streets. When opened, the hotel will be fully serviced by Marriot. The facilities include lobby with retail outlets, ballroom and pre-function catering for 800-1000, executive lounge, business centre with meeting, seminar, board rooms, 3-4 food and beverage outlets including all day dining, speciality restaurants and a rooftop club bar.
