May 10, 2026
2 Min Read

A female Muslim pilgrim identified as Hajiya Hadiza Oumar from Niger State has died during her spiritual journey for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

According to information shared by NupeWide TV, the deceased reportedly passed away while travelling from Mecca to Medina during this year’s Hajj exercise.

Her death has sparked emotional reactions among fellow pilgrims and members of the Muslim community, many of whom described her passing as a solemn moment during one of Islam’s holiest journeys.

“A sad moment from the journey of Hajj 2026.

“A sister in Islam, Hajiya Hadiza Oumar from Niger, has returned to Allah while traveling from Mecca to Medina during her Hajj journey this year.

“Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.

“She left this world while on one of the most blessed journeys a Muslim can make — a journey of worship, sacrifice, and devotion to Allah. We pray that Allah accepts her Hajj, forgives her sins, fills her grave with light, and grants her Jannatul Firdaus.

“May Allah also grant patience and strength to her family and loved ones,” the statement read.

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and attracts millions of Muslims from across the world to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina every year. Many faithful believe that dying during the pilgrimage is a spiritually significant moment.

Family members and associates of the deceased are yet to release an official statement regarding burial arrangements.
