After an engagement ceremony that had everybody that matters in Nigeria and which shook Lagos to the beams, Senate President Bukola Saraki and his wife, Toyin, are set to host the world again. This time, it is the white wedding proper between their beautiful daughter, Tosin and her beau, Olatunde Olukoya. Venue is Abuja where Bukola holds sway, superintending over the National Assembly. And he has been quoted as saying what happened in Lagos few weeks back was just a teaser to what is in the offing in Abuja.
Though not the most liked politician of his era, Saraki wields immense power as Nigeria’s Number Three man. Hence, it is better to be in his good books than otherwise. Thus, even legislators and politicians alike who are not in his camp are jostling to be invited, to put up an appearance and be seen to be felicitating with the family.
Understandably, Saraki’s man-Friday, the rambunctious Senator Dino Melaye has been inundated with calls and pleas for invites. Visible and all over the place at the Lagos leg of the wedding, Dino would equally play a prominent role in Abuja. So, would the Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Abdulfattah Ahmed who was singlehandedly made governor by Saraki even against his father, Late Oloye Olusola Saraki’s wish. Governor Ahmed is expected to be in charge of his governor-colleagues and their entourage.
