Gunmen have killed a pastor, Emmanuel Ezeoikwe, in Zinal village, Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at the victim’s residence.
Confirming the killing in a statement on Thursday, the spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the attack was reported to the police at about 6:30 am.
“On the 21st of April, 2026, at about 6:30 am, the Command received a report… that at about 12:48 am of the same date, suspected gunmen invaded the village and shot the victim.

“Upon receipt of the report, police operatives of the Command swiftly moved to the scene, where they found the lifeless body of the victim and rushed him to a hospital.
“He was, however, confirmed dead by a medical doctor, while the corpse was deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy,” the statement read.
He said three empty AK-47 shells were recovered at the scene.
The police spokesperson said the command had commenced investigation into the incident.
According to him, the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Hassan, has ordered a discreet investigation and deployed tactical teams to track down the perpetrators.
He urged members of the public to remain calm and provide useful information to aid the investigation.
