The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has set up 85 venues across Nigeria for the coordination and marking of the 2022 West African SeniorĀ School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Moyosola Adeyeye, WAEC spokesperson, made the disclosure in a statement on Wednesday.
The council noted that the high number of the centres is to maintain release of candidatesā results 45 days after the last paper is taken.
WAEC said that the coordination and markingĀ would begin on July 13.
āCoordinationĀ meetings for chiefĀ examinersĀ and team leaders will be held in the morning of Wednesday, July 13, while assistant Ā examinersā coordination meetings will commence in the afternoon of the same day.
āThe coordination meetings would span three days āĀ from Wednesday, July 13 ā to Friday, July 15.
āThis is to enable our Muslim brothers and sisters (staff and examiners) to partake fully in the festivities (Eid-el Kabir) before embarking on the assignment.
āThe council, therefore, wishes to felicitate the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the 2022 Eid-el Kabir celebration,āĀ it said.
The 2022 WASSCE for school candidates began on May 16Ā and ended on June 23.
