Yes, Number 4, Queensdrive, Ikoyi, looms largely in Lagos city landscape like a castle of Elysian. From its finely wrought architecture design to its sprawling compound, the mansion pulsates with desires and ego of the ruling class.

Since the construction works began on the expensive edifice, high society rumour mill within and outside Lagos has been agog with news that the building is actually a gift to the former governor and political godfather, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Capital findings revealed that the manor, which is set to become, upon completion, the largest and most lavish of its class in the coastal city’s picturesque scene is one of the dividends that the influential godfather is set to enjoy as a result of his inestimable contributions to the success and meteoric rise of his godsons and minions in regional and national politics.

But wait a minute, some of Asiwaju’s friends and political associates are deeply concerned about the derelict state of the expansive property.  What is the cause of concern, one is wont to ask? According to sources, when half-hearted work began on the site, nothing much was done on it for many years. The building lays fallow, in its derelict, naked splendour.

Many years down the line, the situation remains the same. A spirit of stagnancy seems to have enveloped the building project. This situation keeps attracting curious stares and pitiful glances from people; and questions bordering on why Gov. Ambode, would flagrantly abandon the project, have been flying around the society.

It becomes even more worrisome considering that many new buildings whose foundations were laid when it had piled 2 floors, have since become operational.
